  1. The World Meteorological Organization introduced the Global Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Infrastructure, which aims to provide standardized and real-time tracking of greenhouse gases.
  2. The country’s first Electric Pilgrimage Corridor is being built in the Uttarakhand’s Chardham Yatra route, about 900 km long.
  3. Indian-American Arun Subramaniam has been confirmed as the first South Asian District Judge for the Southern District of New York.
  4. Colonel Geeta Rana of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers became the first woman officer to take over command of an independent field workshop in the Ladakh sector.
  5. China’s Parliament on 10 March, 2023 unanimously endorsed an unprecedented third five-year term for President Xi Jinping.
  6. Meghalaya’s North Tura Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Thomas A Sangma was elected the Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly on 10 March, 2023.
  7. Karnataka ended their 54-year wait to win the Santosh Trophy National Football Championship, beating Meghalaya 3-2 in a pulsating final at the King Fahd International Stadium in the Saudi Arabia capital. 
  8. According to a new International Women’s Day study report from City Index 2023, India has the fifth-highest number of female billionaires in the world. India is tied for 5th position with Australia and Hong Kong, with each country having 9 female billionaires.
  9. Two warship of the French Navy, amphibious helicopter carrier FS DIXMUDE, and the frigate LA FAYETTE visited Kochi between 6-10 March, 2023 on the occasion of India and France celebrating the 25th anniversary of their strategic partnership.

  16. On 3 March, 2023 Nobel literature laureate (1994) Kenzaburo Oe, a Pacifist of Japan, passed away in Tokyo, Japan, at the age of 88.
